About Peter Hyman
A former Vanity Fair staffer and men’s magazine
editor (Drill, Men.style.com), Peter Hyman writes features,
reviews and humor pieces for The
New York Times, The New York Observer, Details, Spin,
Radar, The San Francisco Chronicle, Men’s Journal, Portfolio,
McSweeneys and various
others. His first book, a collection of essays entitled
The Reluctant Metrosexual: Dispatches
from an Almost Hip Life (Villard), was published
in August of 2004. He is the the host of a talk show
series called “New York States of Mind” at the Makor
Center and an occasional commentator for NPR. He lives
in Brooklyn with his wife, son and dog.
